Persol was founded in Turin in 1917 by photographer and optician Giuseppe Ratti.
Its frames were initially designed to meet the needs of racing drivers and aviators.
At the end of the 1930s, Persol patented Meflecto, the world's first flexible temple system.
But it was in 1957 that the Turin-based brand really took off: its model 649, specially designed for Turin tram drivers, became an iconic model and the symbol of the brand.
Many film stars adopted it: Steve McQueen, Greta Garbo, Ornella Mutti...
The mineral lenses used are of the highest quality and are available in brown, grey-green and polarised.
